DoneIt is a time tracker for working out where your time is going.
For me there were a few things I wanted to achieve with it
- Be able to say what I’ve been doing all day.
- See how much time is lost to time wasters like excessive email.
- Sanity check work/life balance.
There are lots of time management/tracker tools available already. For me, all the ones I tried missed the mark in that their interfaces were so clunky that they took time away from what I was actually trying to do. Everything about doneIt is made to be able to record what you are doing and get out of the way as quickly as possible. It also allows quick amendments/insertions in hindsight because sometimes you just have to get on with things (eg when there is an outage and the company is loosing money.)
The project repo is at https://github.com/ksandom/doneit.
